What TYPE of photo files can I load?
The following image file types are recomended:

  • jpg (best)
  • gif (next best)
  • png and bmp may be used but are definitely NOT recommended

What are the parameters for FILE SIZE?
Image files have two basic considerations when it comes to size:

  • d.p.i. - dots per inch - the quality of the image - This should be set to 96 or lower. The internet does not display images at a resolution greater than 96 d.p.i.
  • File Size - kb - kilobytes - to preserve disk space, files loaded should not excede 500kb in size and should be closer to 100 - 200kb to work properly.
  • Pixels - the physical size of the image. Images loaded should be no smaller than 400 x 400 pixels and no larger than 800 x 800 pixels - or any combination thereof.

What should I do before I upload a file?
You should use a photo image manipulation program to resize your photo to be as close to the above specifications as possible. Then save it in a directory where you can readily find it.

How do I upload a photo file?
From the upload picture on this webpage, click "browse" and find your photo on your computer. Then click "Add / Update Picture."
Do I need to do anything once I have uploaded the file?
No, our server should automatically place and re-size your photo.

What happens if the photo does not display once it has been uploaded?
If the page says that the file uploaded successfully and it did not "time out," but still does not display, first try refreshing your page using your browser's "refresh page" button. Re-check all of the above parameters and ensure that your file meets these requirements and try again. If it still does not display, please write to us at skpcrafts@skp.net and request further assistance.

What happens if the page just sits there and never resolves after clicking "upload photo"?
If the page just sits there after clicking "upload photo," then it could be timing out. This is most common on dial-up connections. Try reducing your file size as much as possible (<100kb) using a gif format, if possible, and try again. If the problem persists, we can load the photo for you just email the photo to us at skpcrafts@skp.net
What about COPYRIGHT?
You must hold the copyright to the photograph or have a written arrangement with the copyright holder to display the photograph. PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD A PHOTOGRAPH FOR WHICH YOU DO NOT HOLD THE COPYRIGHT OR THE COPYRIGHT IS UNCLEAR.

What do I do if I suspect a photograph of mine was loaded onto the site and I hold the copyright, not the person who loaded it?
Please contact our skpcrafts@skp.net immediately.

A strong passowrd uses a combination of letters, numbers and special characters and is between 8 and 10 characters long. A trick is to pick a combination that makes sense to you and then offest the typing by one or two keys to the right or left or up or down or diagonal, etc. (e.g. instead of "kittykat" you would have "i8556iq5" up and to the left - you could even add special characters instead of the "5"s this would make it even stronger.
